"Oh hey! Listen, I'm on the other line with Kat. Can I call You back? Will You be there?"

"Of course!"

"Awesome. Lemme finish up with her and I'll call You right back."


~ 12 HOURS LATER ~


*ring ring*

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's Me."

"Oh crap. I'm sooooo sorry! Ma and I went to lunch after I got off the phone and I totally forgot!"

"It happens. It's cool."

"Gah, I hate to do this but I'm driving to work. Can I call You back when I'm off?"

"Sure! Or, you know, you could call Me from work if you want."

"Love to but I don't think I'll have the time. And they kinda frown on that sort of thing."

"Alright. Well, I'll be here either way."

"'K. I'll talk to You later."


~ NEXT DAY ~


*ring ring*

"Hello?"

"Hi! Me again."

"Hey, I'm actually in the middle of the new Mythbusters. Could we talk when it's over? They're strapping rockets to a sled and pancaking a car!"

"Haha! OK, that's fine!"


~ THAT EVENING ~

"Hey, it's Michelle. I'm either away from my phone or screening my calls to avoid someone. Leave me a message and if I don't call back, it's you."

"To leave a voice message, press one now or just wait for the tone."

*TONE*

"Hey Michelle, it's Me. Haven't talked to you in awhile. I know you're busy but whenever you get a moment I'll be here. I'd really love to catch up."


~ 3 DAYS LATER ~


*ring ring*

"Hey there."

"Um, hi. How're You doing?"

"Divine. As usual."

"Listen, I need some help."

"I know."

"And I know I have no right to ask since I've totally blown You off and taken You for granted... but I have nowhere else to go. I've kinda fucked everything up trying to do things my way. So... yeah."

"I know."

"I was kinda expecting You to, like, not answer in fact. I wouldn't blame You."

"I know."

"So, seriously, if You don't wanna hear it, I'll understand."

"I have nothing else I'd rather do than wait for you to come to me. I knew you would and I knew it'd only happen when you needed something."

"Geez, why? Why would You put up with me? At least make me beg for forgiveness or something. I've been a selfish douche-rocket; I deserve it."

"I Love you. And you're here now because you WANT to be here. That's enough for Me."

"I wouldn't be that way, You know, if the tables were turned."

"I guess it's a good thing I'm not human."

"Yeah, I guess."
